Christmas came early to the local communities of Nowra and Riverina at the Veteran Wellbeing Centre Christmas Spectacular events.
Veterans and their families in Wagga Wagga came together at our Riverina Veteran Wellbeing Centre for a day packed full of fun-filled activities, including gingerbread house making, Christmas family photos, making Christmas slime, and writing Christmas cards to be passed along by team members to veterans who are spending this Christmas alone.
At Nowra, veterans and their families put their gingerbread house-building skills to the test. There was also a Christmas photo booth, and a delicious BBQ which was hosted by the local RSL sub-Branch members. Santa Claus also made a special guest appearance.
Thanks to our RSL LifeCare Veteran Services team members who take time to create such important community events for our veterans and their families.  Events like these are also possible thanks to the support of local community and businesses. Particularly Kookaburra Retreat for sponsoring the treats and decorations for the Nowra event, and Maris Herr Collections for her ongoing support of the Riverina Veteran Wellbeing Centre.
Finally, we are grateful for the generosity of Defence and Veterans Legal Service for their financial support of both Christmas Spectacular events, without which they would not have been possible, and the local RSL NSW sub-Branches in both regions who donated proceeds or helped out on the day to make it a success.
“So nice and thoughtful, it’s great for us to have structured events that just get us out meeting people”
