Emotional Regulation Program – NSW Veteran Community
This program is specifically tailored for the veteran community, to provide immediate skills that veterans can access to support their individual emotional regulation, and is supported by a DVA Wellbeing Grant.
The courses and workshops are free, and delivered online or at our Veteran & Family Hubs.
Financial Assistance
We can provide short term financial assistance to help with things like groceries, electricity bills or rental arrears.
Help during a natural disaster
In times of natural disaster such as droughts, floods and bushfires, RSL LifeCare Veteran Services can provide a one-off financial payment to NSW based veterans and their families.
The Disaster Assistance Payment is available to veterans and their families living at a residence that has been affected by the disaster. Initial assistance is up to $3000 per household where the veteran resides. This payment is available for three months following the date the disaster is declared.
RSL LifeCare Veteran Services activates the Disaster Assistance Payment in accordance with the NSW Government’s declaration of a disaster. The information regarding when a disaster is declared, the Australian Government Reference Number (AGRN), the type of disaster and impacted areas can be located here: NSW Government Disaster Declaration.
Claims and Advocacy support
Our trained staff offer information and free advice on the process of making a DVA claim, as well as the government legislation that covers veterans’ compensation.
Employment Assistance
Careers counselling, interview coaching, connections to employment.
Homelessness & Housing support
We’ll help you access safe and secure accommodation, transition to a more stable home environment or provide support to remain in your existing home.
