    We are inviting applications for a Chef Manager to look after our 400+ residents in our ANZAC Village in Narrabeen. Your team will be based out of a central production kitchen and service four residential care homes: Peter Cosgrove House, Connie Fall, Kokoda and Phyllis Stewart and two cafes within our care homes. This role will see you reporting to the site manager whilst working in a supportive and collaborative team environment.

    We're looking for an experienced Chef Manager with a passion for aged care, who can pave the way to success and will thrive in this role!

    Responsibilities of this role would be, but not limited to:

    • Oversee the day-to-day supervision of employees regarding all aspects of the current food operation
    • Demonstrating strong leadership and creating and sustaining a high-performing team.
    • Preparation, planning, and cooking of various meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
    • Complying with all infection control protocols and safe food handling procedures
    • Ensuring all meals are prepared whilst keeping resident choices, allergies, and recommendations in mind
    • Adhere to the Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures of RSL LifeCare and participate in and promote WHS activities as required
    • Work collaboratively with the care, clinical, and lifestyle teams
    • Ensuring regular audits are being performed and recorded monthly
    • Maintain food costs within budgetary guidelines
    • Maintain ordering systems and supervise ordering for all sections in the main kitchen including textured and special diet sections
    • Engage with residents on a regular basis ensuring their feedback is listened to and considered

    Skills and Experience required:

    • Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
    • Experience in leading and managing catering operations
    • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a large team
    • Ability to plan and implement catering services, ensuring a holistic approach and having regard for the resident
    • Experience menu creating and operating with recipe tools preferable
    • Senior living /Aged Care culinary experience preferable
    • Demonstrated understanding of quality control in food preparation and delivery within an aged care setting

    About the role:
    As we continue to grow and evolve, we're looking for an experienced and dynamic Workforce Manager to join our leadership team and help shape the future of workforce planning and service delivery across our organisation.

    The Workforce Manager focuses on operational excellence through effective resource capacity and demand forecasting, real-time monitoring, rostering optimisation, process governance, roster compliance, continuous improvement, and reporting. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand factors affecting workforce plans, develop and maintain operational resource plans, and leverage insights from the broader workforce market to anticipate current and future needs for our Residential Care business units.

    You will:

    • Collaborate with Regional Managers and stakeholders to develop and implement workforce planning strategies
    • Manage and review quarterly care minutes for each Residential Care location, analysing variances and occupancy rates to inform workload planning
    • Consult with Facility, Regional, and Finance Managers on recommended roster changes based on care minute reviews
    • Update the workload planner in UKG Dimensions quarterly with approved changes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, employment contracts and industry standards
    • Identify process and compliance gaps, and implement improvements
    • Review and enhance rostering systems for efficiency, accuracy, and worker satisfaction
    • Develop timely, accurate reporting on workforce and team performance metrics
    • Collaborate with the GM Workforce Management and Procurement team to manage third-party labour providers and maintain relationships with preferred providers
    • Identify training needs and coordinate on-the-job training to enhance roster management and workforce planning skills within the team
    • Manage a team of rostering partners, including resource allocation, portfolio management and performance management


    Who are you:

    • Extensive experience in workforce planning and roster management - residential aged care or public health sector an advantage
    • Proven leadership skills: demonstrated experience developing, motivating and leading high performing and engaged teams is essential
    • Ability to make decisions that balance commercial outcomes with customer experience, while effectively mitigating risks
    • Experience developing and implementing process improvements highly regarded
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Aged Care Quality Standards and the Fair Work Act
    • Experience with workforce management software, specifically UKG Dimensions, including report generation and data analysis to monitor key performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with team members, customers, and stakeholders
