Working collaboratively to help veterans
We’re proud to work collaboratively with RSL NSW to support veterans and their families across the state. RSL NSW supports our Veteran and Family Hub strategy and its sub-Branches help fund the services we deliver.
We are grateful for the ongoing from RSL NSW and its sub-Branches to help provide funding to enable us to support veterans through the wide variety of programs we offer. Veterans know they can reach out to their sub-Branch or RSL LifeCare and receive key and free support and services, including support for DVA Claims.
Together we are helping veterans, every day
When veterans come to RSL LifeCare, we know that each circumstance is unique. We take the time to understand the person behind the claim or issue, to ensure we can offer the best support. Together with our RSL NSW sub-Branch colleagues, we are helping veterans and their families live their life to th fullest.
In the past quarter (date to date), the generous funds from RSL NSW sub-Branches have enabled us to provide the following support to veterans and their families:
- Providing over $71,000 in financial assistance.
- Assisting 38 veterans experiencing homelessness, and providing 1,150 nights of accommodation.
- Helping 259 veterans to lodge 799 DVA claims.
- Referred 27 veterans or partners into our employment program.
- Lodging 58 new VRB appeals, completing 109 Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mediation discussions and represented 11 full VRB Hearings.
- Guided 57 veterans through 8 horse handling and riding courses and logged 254 hours of volunteer activities at Spur Ranch.

Help accessing mental health treatment
Anyone with at least one day of service in the ADF is able to receive treatment for mental health conditions through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, even if the condition has not been accepted as service related.
We can provide independent advice on preparing claims, as well as what you can access before a claim is accepted.
"It has been a long road and my advocate has done well with my claims so far...your employees do make a difference, thank you."
