7th August is Residential Care Employee Day. This is a day for us to thank every person who works in our organisation and to acknowledge their contribution to enriching the lives of the veterans and seniors in our care.Â
From nurses to administrators, from gardeners to chefs, from carers to drivers, from volunteers to allied health care workers, every person contributes to the quality of life of our seniors.Â
RSL LifeCare is celebrating Residential Care Employee Day for the third year in a row, and we ask the community to take a moment and think about those special people amongst us who work Residential Care. They are the quiet superheroes who provide care with professionalism, compassion, and dedication for our loved ones.
They deserve our thanks every day, but this week we ask you to reach out to someone who works in Residential Care and say THANK YOU!
Watch this #ThanksForCaring message from our CEO, Graham Millett to all our Residential Care workers.
About Residential Care Employee Day
Residential Care Employee Day became a day of national recognition in 2019 to acknowledge 360,000 Residential Care workers nationally who contribute to caring for the more than 1.3 million people who receive Residential Care services in Australia.
Although many people primarily associate Residential Care with nurses, approximately 80% of the Residential Care workforce is comprised of other roles, such as allied health professionals, personal care assistants, cleaning and laundry, catering and chefs, management, maintenance, administration, leisure, and more.
