RSL LifeCare awarded $520,341 in government funding to enhance Veteran wellbeing services in Riverina

RSL LifeCare has secured $520,341 in funding from the Albanese Government’s Veterans Wellbeing Grants One-Off program that will be used to expand its services and facilities in support of veterans and their families in the Riverina region.

The funding will be directed towards comprehensive renovations aimed at transforming the existing Riverina Veteran Wellbeing Centre, brought to you by RSL LifeCare with support from RSL NSW, with a focus on creating a more accessible, inviting, private and supportive environment. The current centre facilities which include dedicated zones for private consultation, social activities, and family engagement will undergo upgrades, offering increased comfort and a welcoming atmosphere.

The project will also involve the acquisition of a dedicated outreach vehicle, facilitating the centre’s staff in reaching out to RSL sub-Branches and community groups more effectively. This expanded outreach will ensure better access to support and wellbeing programs for veterans and their families across the Riverina region.

Charlotte Webb, RSL LifeCare Riverina Veteran Wellbeing Centre Manager said, “This funding is a tremendous boost to our efforts in providing more services for the veteran community in the Riverina region. The improvements and expansions planned for the RSL LifeCare Riverina Veteran Wellbeing Centre will create a more inclusive, private and supportive environment, fostering a sense of community and connection among our veterans and their families.”

To complement these renovations, RSL LifeCare will roll out marketing and media activities to raise greater awareness of the centre’s enhanced services and expanded capabilities, ensuring that more veterans and their families in the Riverina region are informed about the support and resources available to them.

The Veteran Wellbeing Grants One-Off Program was established to complement and build on the Government’s existing Veterans’ and Families’ Hub program. Through the grants, the Government provided almost $17 million in funding towards 21 projects that can be swiftly implemented to address the immediate needs of veterans and their families in critical areas.

We are also pleased to announce that we have been granted $1.7million towards establishing a hub in the Central Coast, and $240,000 towards a hub at Bardia Barracks.  Find out more about these grants here.
