Veterans’ Health Week 2024 – Keep Connected

Veterans’ Health Week (VHW) will take place between 13 to 20 October 2024 with the theme Keep Connected. “Keep Connected” aims to promote good health and wellbeing in the everyday life of veterans and families. It will also shine a spotlight on the importance of social connectedness.

Veteran and Families (re)Connection Camp

RSL LifeCare has partnered with EcoWalks Tours to host the upcoming (re)Connection Camp for veteran families. Come and enjoy an unforgettable overnight hiking adventure full of fun activities perfect for you and your child to reconnect, create memories and learn new skills. Be guided along the bushtrails of the Berowra Valley National Park by the team from EcoWalks Tours. All snacks, meals, refreshments and camp gear will be provided for you. All you need to do is to show up with a sense of adventure.

This is a free 2-day camping event.

EcoWalks Tours is a veteran owned business which delivers immersive and educational experiences throughout Sydney’s bushland. Alan Toner, the founder and operator of EcoWalks Tours is an army veteran who knows all too well the benefits of taking the time to get outdoors with his children and connect with nature. During your two day adventure with Alan and his team you’ll participate in educational activities such as navigation, knot tying, plant identification as well as campcraft that aim to improve communication and problem solving skills. At camp, you’ll have the option of joining in with a range of immersive activities and games as well as have quality time with your child. Overall, this event will foster a stronger bond between you and your child which will enhance the wellbeing of your family.
