Have you ever wanted to write your memoir and capture your experiences from Defence life?
Whether you’re writing to preserve your family legacy or simply for yourself, the Australian Writers’ Centre is the perfect place to begin.
For many, writing is more than storytelling—it’s a path to healing. It can be cathartic, transformative, even redemptive—and often, it truly is.
Flexible Learning Options
You can study from home or anywhere with this online course.
And to make participation easier, you can study from your local Veteran and Family Hub, where a quiet space will be available for you to complete the course. If you don’t have access to a computer, there is potential to borrow a laptop from your local Hub to ensure you can fully engage with the program.

Course Details & Zoom Sessions
Participants will attend three short Zoom sessions:
- Wed 18 Feb – 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM (Week 1)
- Sun 15 Mar – 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM (End of Week 4)
- Wed 1 Apr – 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM (After Week 6)
