About the Poppy Ball

The Poppy Ball 2025 was held in Sydney on Saturday 8 November 2025.   We are pleased to announce Raytheon Australia joined us as Platinum Sponsor this year also.

Drawing on the significance of the poppy in our nation’s military history, the Poppy Ball 2025 was a fundraising gala event, with all proceeds going to support our services for veterans and their families.​

This year’s event was held aboard the HMAS Canberra (III), docked at Garden Island, Woolloomooloo.   A stunning location for our black-tie Cocktail event, and an exclusive venue. 

Guests enjoyed entertainment, a 3-course meal, and a stunning Ceremonial Sunset Service.

Why do veterans and their families need our support?

Unemployment. Homelessness. Mental Health Issues. Isolation.  Financial insecurity. Health issues.

These are all issues that can plague members of the defence force when they leave the ADF. 

These men and women, young and old, have put their lives on the line to selflessly protect us, and so now it’s our duty to support them.

RSL LifeCare provides free support and services to veterans and their families such as career transition support, counselling, financial assistance, DVA claims, housing support, wellbeing services and more.

Funds raised at the Poppy Ball will provide these critical services for veterans and their families, to help veterans transition from service life into civilian life. 

Tackling Veteran Homelessness

Did you know, veterans are almost three times more likely to experience homelessness than the general population?  The uncertainty of where to sleep, let alone where to feel safe, is an issue that no-one should have to encounter. Unfortunately, some Australian veterans know this as their reality.  RSL LifeCare is committed to providing veterans with short term, transitional, and long-term housing solutions. But we need your help to help more veterans.  Our veteran housing program, Homes for Heroes, is expanding and we need your help to provide safety and security to our veterans when they are at their most vulnerable.  Help us help more veterans, by raising more funds to help provide vital services for long term benefit.
