RSL LifeCare hosts the inaugural Poppy Ball aboard HMAS Adelaide (III)

The inaugural Poppy Ball was held in Sydney on Saturday 11 November 2023 aboard the HMAS Adelaide (III).  The event was a sell-out black-tie fundraising event with all proceeds going to support our services for veterans and their families to help them transition from service life into civilian life.  

Held on Remembrance Day and drawing on the significance of the poppy in our nation’s military history, the ball was a truly memorable and special occasion. 

We were honoured to have Governor General, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd) and Her Excellency Mrs Linda Hurley join us.

We are truly grateful for the support of Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Hammond AO; Rear Admiral Earley CSC; Acting Deputy Fleet Command, Captain Raeside; CO HMAS Adelaide, Captain Duggan; XO HMAS Adelaide, CMDR Walsh; CMDR Logistics and Health HMAS Adelaide, CMDR Savy and Maritime Logistics Officer HMAS Adelaide, LCDR Abley in making the event possible.
