About you:

• Cert IV in Leisure and Health and/ or relevant tertiary degree
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety
• Ability to assess residents' psychological, social, and emotional needs to identify any barriers to participation in lifestyle activities
• Ability to establish and maintain professional and appropriate relationships with residents and their families/representatives
• Demonstrated understanding of Aged Care and associated accreditation requirements.

About the role:

As a Recreation and Engagement Assistant, you will work closely with the Recreation and
Engagement Coordinator to plan, deliver and evaluate personalised leisure and lifestyle
programs for residents. These programs include one-to-one activities, group sessions, special
events and culturally tailored experiences. Your role will support resident choice, independence
and fulfilment through meaningful and purposeful engagement. Within our supportive work

You will have the opportunity to:

• Support residents' goals of care in partnership with each resident and/or their representative
• Assist with the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of personalise leisure and recreation programs in collaboration with residents, the Recreation and

• Provide appropriate and stimulating programs for residents living with dementia and cognitive impairment

About you:

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (or equivalent) or Certificate III in Individual
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, including English proficiency
• Competent computer skills, including basic documentation and use of digital tools
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A sound understanding of aged care and the principles guiding this sector

• Mandatory clearances before starting Police Check or NDIS Worker Screening Check

If you have experience in caring for elderly or vulnerable individuals in the community or group home setting and are looking for your next opportunity, we have the role for you! We are hiring for Aged Care Workers our 64 bed aged care home in Hawks Nest - Peter Sinclair Gardens.

On offer is ongoing rostered shifts throughout the week including weekends with shifts ranging from Mornings, Afternoons and Night duties.

You have the opportunity to pick up permanent shifts with penalty rates and 17.5 % leave loading on paid annual leave or work as a casual and take the casual loading of 25%.

What are we looking for:

• A genuine caring nature with demonstrated tolerance, patience and empathy for the elderly in the community
• Demonstrated experience in caring for the elderly and/or vulnerable individuals in a residential/ group home setting and/or community is desirable
• Certificate III in Individual support or similar
