COVID-19 Hotspots and High-Risk Venues

As a provider of Residential Care, RSL LifeCare receives specific instructions and guidance from NSW Health and ACT Health on restricting visitors to our residential care homes. RSL LifeCare must follow these restrictions.

Rules for entering RAC facilities

  1. No staff or visitor can enter a residential care home if they are a close contact of a person with confirmed COVID-19 and are within their isolation period.
  2. No individual should enter a residential care home if in the last 14 days they have knowingly been exposed to anyone who has been tested and is awaiting results or has tested positive for, COVID-19.
  3. No individual should enter a residential care home if in the last 14 days they have knowingly in the last 14 days been exposed to anyone who has symptoms of: cough, sore throat, fever greater than 37.5c, fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea, diarrhoea, or headache.
  4. No individual should enter a residential care home if they feel well have any symptoms of COVID-19 and have tested positive for COVID-19.
  5. No individual should enter a residential care home if they or any person in their household has returned from overseas (including New Zealand) or visited in the last 14 days, any hotspots, listed by the Department of Health in an Australian state/territory (see the section below Hotspot Contact Tracing/ Venue website for each State).
  6. All staff, essential visitors and contractors must always wear a surgical face mask in a Residential Care Home in NSW
  7. All individuals who enter the residential care home must abide by the social distancing rules of 1 person per 1.5 square meters.
  8. All visitors aged 12 years and over to Residential Care Homes in NSW must have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before their visit unless they can provide a COVID-19 medical contraindication certificate, or the visit is for end of life.
    • Visitors to Residential Care Homes in the ACT are no longer required to be double vaccinated, but it is strongly recommended.
