Pets and Positive Ageing

Animals play an important role in our lives.

As Community Staff, we are blessed to see the bonds that exist between our clients and their pets as we go about our daily visits. It has been well documented and proven that the companionship of pets is extremely beneficial to our health.

Our clients pets are their true valued companions and they help to improve the quality of their lives.

If you are in the ACT and you have a pet and want the pet to have regular care such as grooming or walking this can be included in your care plan.

Services can also include feeding the pet, cleaning the cat litter or washing the pet’s bedding. If you would like a one off service, such as toe nail clipping, please ask your care coordinator / case manager to assist you in organising this. All of this is done in consultation with the client and/or their representative.
