- Why is RSL DefenceCare moving to RSL LifeCare?
- Under its new strategic direction, RSL is focused on returning to its original purpose of supporting veterans’ and their families’ through camaraderie and commemoration activities and by connecting them with support services.Conversely, RSL LifeCare is committed to broadening its support services to help those in need and this presents an opportunity for them to expand its charitable purpose of caring for and supporting veterans in need. They have the scale right across NSW, and resources to deliver quality services for veterans, given they have been doing so for more than 100 years.
- Will RSL NSW still support RSL DefenceCare?
- Yes, RSL NSW works collaboratively with RSL LifeCare and will continue to do so. RSL NSW sub-Branches provide financial support for the services of RSL DefenceCare and the new strategic direction is focused on connecting veterans with important wellbeing services, including those provided by RSL DefenceCare.
- How will I contact RSL DefenceCare?
- RSL DefenceCare’s contact details are not changing. You can still reach RSL DefenceCare at:E: [email protected]

- Will RSL DefenceCare still provide the same services?
- Yes. From a veterans’ perspective they should see little or no change to what they have always been used to with DefenceCare.
- When did RSL DefenceCare move to RSL LifeCare?
- The RSL DefenceCare team joined RSL LifeCare on Monday, 3 August 2020.
- I am currently receiving support from RSL DefenceCare, will this continue after 3 August? Will it be the same person? How will I contact them?
- Yes. All services will continue to be delivered by the RSL DefenceCare team and contact details will remain the same. From a veterans’ perspective they should see little or no change to what they have always been used to with DefenceCare.
- Will RSL DefenceCare still have all of my information?
- Yes. As part of the transfer, all personal information about you and your dealings with RSL DefenceCare will be migrated across to RSL LifeCare. All of your information will be stored and managed in accordance with all legislative requirements. Your privacy is of the highest priority for RSL LifeCare.

- Is Veteran Sport Australia (VSA) also moving to RSL LifeCare?
- No. VSA has joined the Australian International Miltary Games (AIMG), the organisation responsible for the Invictus Games Sydney 2018. However, the organisations will continue to work closely together.
- Will RSL DefenceCare still visit Defence bases?
- Yes. All current arrangements with ADF bases will remain the same.
- Will RSL DefenceCare still work from ANZAC House?
- RSL DefenceCare will be moving to RSL LifeCare Head Office at 120 Pacific Highway, St Leonards. However, as part of ongoing collaboration between RSL LifeCare and RSL NSW, appointments can continue to be booked at ANZAC House if required.
- Is RSL DefenceCare still a part of RSL NSW?
- No. RSL DefenceCare will be transferred to RSL LifeCare. RSL NSW will continue to work collaboratively with RSL LifeCare in ensuring Defence personnel receive the support they need and deserve from RSL DefenceCare.
- What is the relationship between RSL NSW and RSL LifeCare?
- RSL NSW is currently the sole member of RSL LifeCare. Both organisations are committed to ensuring veterans can access the support services they need and deserve.
- What do I say in response to enquiries about the RSL DefenceCare Service?
- All services will continue to be delivered by the RSL DefenceCare team and contact details will remain the same. From a veterans’ perspective they should see little or no change to what they have always been used to with DefenceCare.
- Where do I direct queries for RSL DefenceCare?

- Can my sub-Branch still donate to RSL DefenceCare?
- Yes. Updated guidance on SOP 1 will be provided in a Circular to be issued shortly providing clarity on this.
- Can I still volunteer my time?
- Yes, you can.If you are interested in volunteering for RSL NSW please contact [email protected].
