Gardening Attendant – Galston
- Gardening Attendant role based at Rowland Village, Galston
- Permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday
- Salary package up to $15,900 and $2,650 for meals and entertainment allowance
We are looking for a Gardening Attendant at our Retirement Village in Galston. This is a full-time role to look after day-to-day lawn mowing, gardening and landscaping duties across our Retirement Village to ensure the grounds are always looking and operating at their absolute best.
Your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
- Respond to gardening requests in an efficient and timely manner
- Maintenance of gardens, lawns, irrigation, pools and grounds
- Attend to indoor plants, conduct recycling & re-potting schedules
- Maintenance of nursery stock
- Cleaning of paths and common areas
- Collection and disposal of gardening waste (and of general waste if required)
- Removal of leaves and twigs (including from road gutters where relevant)
- Maintenance of gardening and grounds equipment
- Ensure security of tools and equipment used in gardens and grounds areas, particularly dementia areas
- Other duties as directed by the Leader
What are we looking for?
- Verifiable experience in a gardening role in aged care/retirement living or similar setting would be desirable but not essential
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards sustained maintenance of building and grounds
- Willing to learn about aged care and the principles guiding this sector
- Ability to interact with the elderly residents on a day-to-day basis

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid RSL LifeCare Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
