Gardening and Maintenance Attendant – Dubbo

  • Permanent full-time position for Maintenance and Gardening
  • Work Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3 PM
  • NFP Tax benefits – salary package up to $15,900 and $2,650 for meals and entertainment allowance.

We are looking for a Gardening and Maintenance Attendant for a permanent position in Dubbo. This is a full-time role to look after day-to-day lawn mowing, gardening and maintenance activities across our Retirement Village to ensure the building and grounds are always looking and operating at their absolute best.

About the role:
This role is a permanent position with 76 hours per fortnight and will be well suited to maintenance personnel familiar with the day-to-day upkeep of building and grounds.

Your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Respond to maintenance requests in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Minor building repair works to building fixtures.
  • Maintenance of gardens, lawns, irrigation, pools and grounds
  • Assist residents with minor maintenance works such as light globes, broken fly screens, minor lock repairs.
  • Setting up and taking down for special functions – such as a Village BBQ or morning tea
  • Assist with safety inspections and light cleaning of community centres
  • Other duties as directed by the Leader

What are we looking for?

  • Verifiable experience in a maintenance role in aged care/retirement living or similar setting would be desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards sustained maintenance of building and grounds.
  • Trade qualification preferred but not essential.
  • Willing to learn about aged care and the principles guiding this sector.
  • Ability to interact with the elderly residents on a day-to-day basis.
  • LR Drivers licence as you may be required to drive the village bus

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid RSL LifeCare Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.”
