Message from our CEO celebrating International Women’s Day

Good morning everyone,

Today, on International Women’s Day, we take the opportunity to celebrate the contribution made by the incredible women of RSL LifeCare and the Australian Defence Force.

Women comprise the vast majority of our workforce, representing around 85 per cent of our Residential Care staff. We are fortunate to have so many women dedicated to sharing their skill, compassion and care with our clients and residents.

Today we applaud each and every one for the effort they bring to enriching the lives of our veterans and seniors.

Women also represent the lion’s share of staff within the healthcare sector. Today we send our thanks for the support each of these women has provided to our loved ones, whether in times of crisis or when they have needed expert care.

We also send our deep respect to all of the brave women who have served or are serving our country within the Australian Defence Force. Their selflessness secures our peace and prosperity, and this is a gift for which we are truly grateful.

While today is cause for celebration, we recognise that much more must be done to ensure the dignity and equity of women and girls in Australia and worldwide.

RSL LifeCare is committed to the cause of equity for women and to promoting their great potential. We will continue to invest in driving reforms that remove gender disparities and advance all aspects of women’s lives both within and outside of the workplace.
