A new chapter begins at St. Quentin Place, Kaleen Canberra

RSL LifeCare has officially marked the start of Stage 2 at St. Quentin Place in Kaleen, Canberra, celebrating a major milestone in the delivery of more housing choice for older Australians. 

As an organisation with a long history of supporting veterans, seniors and their families, RSL LifeCare approaches developments like St. Quentin Place with a focus on people’s wellbeing, belonging and quality of life, alongside the delivery of contemporary homes and communities. 

At a groundbreaking event held on 10 June, CEO Drew Pearce, Chief Property Officer Steve Thomas and General Manager of Retirement Living Michael Wappett joined, RSL LifeCare team members, project partners and guests to mark the beginning of construction on 83 new independent living homes.  

The next stage of the development will include a mix of 72 apartments and 11 townhouses, alongside a new community hub designed to support connection, activity and wellbeing.  

The expansion comes at a time of growing demand for retirement living options in Canberra, with more people seeking homes that are easier to maintain, well located and designed for modern living.  

Speaking at the event, Drew Pearce said the project reflects RSL LifeCare’s commitment to providing greater choice for veterans and seniors. 

“This is about giving people more options in how and where they live, while staying connected to the communities they know,” Drew said.  

Steve Thomas said, “the next stage has been shaped by what residents are looking for today. 

“People want homes that support convenience, independence and connection, and that’s exactly what we’re delivering here.”  

Construction is now underway, with completion targeted for late 2027.  

When complete, St. Quentin Place will continue to grow as a vibrant and connected village, offering residents a place to feel at home.
