Permanent Work Health & Safety leadership role in a high performing WHS Team

Eligible for ‘not for profit’ salary packaging – up to $15,900 a year


As our new Senior Manager, Work Health & Safety (WHS), you’ll be leading a small team and be taking charge of implementing the WHS strategy and vision, as well as the roll out of a new WHS Management System.

You will work closely with Senior Managers in the business, as well as the frontline workers to ensure that RSL LifeCare’s (RSLLC) workforce operate in a safe working environment, that is compliant with legislation and regulatory requirements.

You’ll also:

  • Lead the implementation of the national WHS safety vision and strategic objectives.
  • Providing relevant and timely WHS advice and support to managers and employees.
  • Drive the promotion and maintenance of a positive WHS and risk management culture, in alignment with legislative and industry standards.
  • Working closely with the leadership teams in other divisions to ensure their WHS system is relevant and compliant.
  • Complete WHS audits as part on the WHS internal audit plan and provide quality WHS reports for the Board and Committees.
  • Develop and facilitate WHS training of all types as required.

We need you to have:

  • Demonstrable and substantial experience in a WHS role with experience of mentoring or leading more junior team members.
  • Qualifications in WHS/ OHS (Diploma of WHS critical), Allied Health or related fields, including a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (essential).
  • WHS incident investigation, critical analysis, problem solving, audit, reporting and metrics experience and associated skills.
  • Expert knowledge of work health & safety legislation, regulations and ISO 45001, 4801, 9001,14001, 31000 standards
  • Experience across several industries and exposure to implementing WHS Management Systems.
  • An interest in working within a residential or home care setting and able to visit sites around NSW and ACT regularly.
