Frequently asked questions

• How long do I have to wait?

  All of our Stage 1 (37 Villas) have now been completed and are ready to be occupied.

• What are the deferred management fees (departure fees)?

  When you move to our village, the payment you make upon entry is partially refundable. There is a deduction for management fees of 10% of the entry price on the day you move in, and a further 2% per annum for a maximum of 10 years and calculated on the price of the home on entry.

• Capital Gain?

  There is no sharing of any potential capital gain or loss – it remains with the operator.

• Once I have decided on the purchase of a unit, how long do I have to pay?

  $5,000 deposit will hold your home of choice .  At that time, if you need to sell your current home to come into the village, we would then expect you to commence active marketing of your home with settlement expected within three months of that date.  At the end of this period we would review the situation with you and we may be able to offer you an extension.  Your deposit is fully refundable at any time should you not proceed to settlement.

• Amount of 'on-going" recurrent charge / (monthly maintenance fee)?

  $223.50 per fortnight

• What is included in the "on-going" recurrent charges?

  Yes, subject to approval. Your request would have to be put in writing and forwarded to the Village Manager.

• What happens if we are/I am no longer able to live independently?

  You are able to apply for Community Care Packages or our nearest Residential Care facility is Arthur Blackburn VC Gardens which is located within the village of Pozières. We can also help you find suitable low or high care options within Port Macquarie. To access these services your care needs will need to be assessed by the local health services ACAT (Aged Care Assessment Team) and a My Aged Care Support Plan would need to be provided – find out more information here. Please understand that the Retirement Villages Act requires us to inform you that access to these facilities cannot be guaranteed. Normal fees and charges apply when accessing these services – in line with Government guidelines. Alternatively, there are private services available.

• Can I access extra services while still living independently?

  Yes, we have RSL LifeCare at Home available, assisting with housework, laundry, provision of meals, shopping, transport to appointments, companionship and care. We can design a service with you that will suit your specific needs.

• Can my partner stay in the unit if I need Residential Aged Care?

  Provided your partner is a party to the Retirement Village Contract, yes, your partner can continue to live independently, and will have the peace of mind that you are being cared for nearby in our Village. Your partner may also like to take you home for a short period of time during the day or night.

• How often and where do the buses run?
