I’m interested in purchasing a home in the Village, what do I have to do?
That’s fantastic news. When you’re ready to make the move, contact the Village Manager (on 02 9653-4920) and arrange a time to meet. We will do our best to help you to find your new home as soon as possible.Â

I've made a deposit on a home; how long do I have to pay the balance?
Typically, within 3 months of making your deposit. Your sales contract will have more information about the process and timeframes. The Village strongly recommends that every potential new resident gets independent financial and legal advice.Â

How much are the recurrent charges (fortnightly maintenance fee)?
Take a look through the ‘General Inquiry Document’ provided by your RSL LifeCare representative.Â

What’s included in the recurrent charges?
Recurrent charges are the ongoing charges for general services which go towards the upkeep of the village (such as village administration, gardening and maintenance of village property, council rates and fees, building insurance to name a few).Â

What are the deferred management fees (Departure fees)?
The payment you make when you move into the Village is partially refundable. There’s a deduction for management fees that’s calculated at 10% on the day you move in (this is non-refundable) based on the price of the home when you moved in, and a further 4% per annum for a maximum of 5 years calculated on the price of the home on entry.Â

How does capital gain work?
There is no share of capital gain or loss in this village, it remains with the Operator.

Can changes be made to the home?
If you wish to make any changes to your home, you’ll need to submit your request in writing to your Village Manager, for consideration and approval.Â

What happens if we are/ I am no longer able to live independently?
We know how important it is to live independently and will do our best to help you achieve this. Our Home Care team are here to help you remain independent at home. The services are delivered by our qualified, trained & compassionate Home Care team. Call us on 1300 853 146 to find out more and to apply. If you or your partner require more sustained medical support, transfer to any onsite Residential Care home may be possible, however it is not guaranteed. Your Village Manager is here to help and can put you in touch with the right people and resources who can help you apply for and access these services. There is also some useful information about moving into Residential Care on the Government website www.myagedcare.gov.au.Â

Can I access extra services while still living independently?
Our Home Care service makes this possible. You can get help with everything from housework, laundry, and meals, to transport to appointments, companionship, care and more. All while living comfortably in your own home. Speak with our Home Care team and they will be able to discuss suitable package options for you, that you can purchase.Â

Can my partner stay in our home if I need to move into Residential Care?
Of course. Your partner can keep living independently while knowing you’re in safe hands and getting the care you need, close to the village. Your partner may also like to take you home for a short period of time during the day or overnight or spend lots of time with you in the residential care home. If this needs to happen, get in touch with us and we’ll help work through the necessary details.Â

Can I bring my pet with me to live in the Village?
We are unable to allow you to keep pets at Rowland Village.Â
