Partner of a veteran

RSL DefenceCare provides services to veterans and their families. This includes partners and spouses.

For partners of veterans, both current and former serving, we know you often need to relocate for a job posting, or during transition out of service. Our employment program can help you to find a fulfilling career wherever your partners service takes you.

We can also help partners of current serving, transitioning or ex-serving Defence personnel with things like financial assistance and housing assistance, as well as referrals to other support services.

  When times are hard and money is short, RSL DefenceCare is there to help veterans and their families. We know things can get tough. We can provide short term financial assistance to help with things like groceries, electricity bills, rental arrears or transport.

  Staying mobile is one of the most important ways of keeping life in order when times are tough. Whether it’s getting to and from work, dropping the kids off at school, visiting family, or getting to medical appointments, we know the importance of having access to transportation.

  Social connection is a vital aspect of maintaining a healthy life. We understand the need to meet people in their communities. That’s why we can connect you with groups who visit veterans and family members, especially the elderly or lonely, in their homes, hospitals or nursing homes.

• Help during natural disasters

  In times of natural disaster such as droughts, floods and bushfires, RSL DefenceCare can pay bills on behalf of veterans and their families who have been affected. We can also transfer funds via EFT to provide short term respite.
